Of course, I had to have pieces of my collection with me all day. Surprisingly, I didn't have the right bag for the purpose. I asked my wonderful pattern maker Renate to sew a large, lightweight canvas bag inspired by the great Swedish furniture company. The prototype worked brilliantly, so after my trip the designer Christian Metzner took a closer look at the style and redesigned the details and proportions. Already in New York I was asked if this bag was part of the collection and since then it has been our favourite travel bag. We use it for short trips, for the market, for shopping or for the beach.
